Hello,

My internal network is 192.168.2.X already. My DSL modem is 192.168.1.X. Inside the 2.X network I have a vonage device. If I put the hook up my tomato router to the uverse router I am getting next week as recommended all should go fine just the way it is correct? As I already am on separate subnets DNS should pass with the DHCP of the ATT device. Next question is will the Uverse TV’s work going through the uverse to the tomato and hopping onto the 192.168.2.x network from the Uverse 192.168.1.x network. Will I still route the Uverse TV to the set top boxes??

Jaynath, innovative idea but I it may note be workable with certain sensitive range of products and services, eg IT, defence etc where confidentiality is crucial. It may also lengthen and complicate the whole procurement process. It may even widen the gates of insider information.Your concept sounds good but an organisation may need to find ways to overcome what I have raised here ( and probably other apprehensions as well.

Kind regards.

Can Tomato 1.28 already on my linksys WGRT54GL be used as a repeater of sorts using access point + wds mode to boost 2wire signal in long house.
Not worried about shared signal, since I am usually primary wireless user.

According to peacock info, could go to dd-wrt after flashing OEM etc. etc....but seems complicated.
Above directions seems to be for setting up Tomato in lieu of 2Wire...but fear both will be too weak in very long house. 2Wire is 400mW with internal antenna. Linksys with tomato can be boosted to 70-90mW (even up to 21w MW)...but don't want to burn it out!

Anyone have instructions for possible use of access point + wds mode

Never mind. I was not using the wireless MAC address. Once I used the correct MAC addresses to link the 2 units it worked perfectly. I was able to use WPA AES Encryption as well!
